ALBERTA ROADBUILDERS & HEAVY CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATION

Regular members consist of contracting firms engaged in highway and heavy construction, and other operators judged to be of a similar nature in Alberta.

BC Road Builders & Heavy Construction Association

The B.C. RB&HCA is a non-profit organization that represents firms involved in asphalt and concrete manufacturing, grading, paving, utility construction, road and bridge building/maintenance, among others.

Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association

The SHCA is a voice for the heavy construction industry, as well as a service centre for members to stay current with tenders, technology, regulations and other changes in the industry.

Canadian Construction Association (CCA)

CCA, founded in Ottawa in 1918, now represents more than 20,000 members, in firms drawn from 63 local and provincial integrated partner associations. CCA gives voice to the public policy, legal and standards development goals of contractors, suppliers and allied business professionals working in, or with, Canada’s non-residential construction industry.

Western Canada Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association

The roots of WCR&HCA date to 1943, when the Manitoba and Saskatchewan heavy construction associations founded the Prairie Roadbuilders Association to bring a western voice to national infrastructure investment issues. Alberta and B.C. later joined, and the organization was rebranded. It settled on its current name in 1996.

Association of Consulting & Engineering Companies – Manitoba (ACEC-MB)

The Consulting Engineers of Manitoba are now officially the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Manitoba. The purpose of the ACEC is to further the maintenance of high professional standards in the consulting engineering profession and to promote cordial relations among the various consulting
firms in Manitoba, among other things.

One of the main functions of the AMM is to lobby on issues that affect Manitoba municipalities. Many of our issues are raised by our members through resolutions or correspondence, which we then bring to the attention of the Manitoba or Federal government.

The MTA is an industry association that represents the interests of the trucking industry in Manitoba. Membership is comprised of carrier members, which includes P.S.V. (for hire) fleets, private fleets, household mover fleets, heavy haul fleets, couriers, local cartage companies, and associated trades division members, which includes companies that provide services to carrier members.

MERIT Contractors Association is the only organization of its kind in Manitoba, supporting and representing the unique and diverse interests of open shop contractors. Merit Manitoba consists of over 270 Manitoba, open-shop companies, ranging in size from very small to very large.

Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba

The WCB was founded in 1916 with the passing of The Workers Compensation Act and officially opened in 1917. It administers a workers’ compensation system as an injury and disability insurance system for workers and employers, paid for by employers.

The Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations

The Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations works as an umbrella organization for provincial and territorial Construction Safety Associations with a shared interest in: promoting awareness of construction health and safety, improving information sharing, collaboratively producing workplace health and safety training standards/information resources, and the nationally recognized COR safety management for the construction industry.
