The Canadian Construction Association is pressing federal leaders and parties to commit to increased investment in infrastructure and investment policy to ensure the industry that employs Canadians builds in strength.
The CCA is asking all members, including local construction associations, to write to their local federal candidates, before the September 20 election, to ask them to commit to the three points in the campaign, which it is calling “Invest in Canada. Invest in Canadians. Invest in Infrastructure.”
The three commitments are:
- increase infrastructure investment
- work with industry to build the workforce, and
- refresh the government’s approach to improve fair and competitive procurement.
“We encourage all our members to get involved, to make sure the voice of construction here and across Canada is heard in this election campaign,” said Chris Lorenc, President of the MHCA and of the Western Canada Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association.
