Industry struggling with impact of COIVD-19: MHCA survey

More respondents to MHCA’s survey on the impact of COVID-19 on business indicate their operations are significantly affected now. The survey was sent to members and COR clients Monday, April 6.

The primary concerns of respondents continue to be the general uncertainty in the pandemic, and the financial stresses that have flowed from the pandemic and government orders for people to stay home and businesses to close.

The responses help MHCA represent industry concerns to government and to stakeholder associations, such as the CCA, in discussions with government.

As well, MHCA’s WORKSAFELY™ team has prepared safety procedures for those operating during the pandemic.

“The feedback has been valuable for MHCA, and we make sure the City of Winnipeg and the Province of Manitoba are aware of the general uncertainty,” MHCA President Chris Lorenc said.

“We have pressed, successfully, both levels of government to hold to their plans to rollout the tender advertisements and the start of construction projects this year.”

The MHCA will send out surveys to members as necessary in the future.

For information on government programs, such as wage subsidies for your employees, go to MHCA’s COVID-19 tab and for safety procedures for working during the pandemic go to WORKSAFELY’s dedicated web resource page.
