Alex Betnar joins the MHCA WorkSafely team

MHCA WorkSafely Director Jacquelyn Oduro is pleased to share that Alex Betnar has joined the MHCA WorkSafely team as the new Safety Advisor for the Northern Region, beginning Dec. 15.

Alex brings a strong mix of frontline experience, technical skills, and a deep commitment to safety. With six years at Hudbay Minerals in Flin Flon, he has worked in a wide range of high-risk, safety-sensitive roles, like Underground LHD Operator, Surface Plant Operator, Mill Labourer, Filter Plant Operator, Crusher Foreman, Underground Timberman, and Flotation Plant Operator. Most recently, he served as a Safety Officer in Snow Lakewith a heavy construction company.

Alex holds a Certificate in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Systems from the University of Fredericton and brings strong knowledge in incident investigations, safety audits, toolbox talks, orientations, preventive measures, and digital platforms such as SiteDocs. He is also exceptionally confident with new technology and computer systems, something that will be an asset to the evolving WorkSafely program.

“With deep industry experience and a passion for safety, Alex is set to bring a new level of hands-on support to our northern companies,” said Oduro.
