Catherine Mitchell retires from MHCA

We’d like to take a moment to recognize and celebrate Catherine Mitchell, who retired on June 4, after nine years of dedicated service as Policy and Communications Manager from the MHCA.

“From the beginning, Catherine brought not only a wealth of experience but also a deep commitment to excellence,” said Chris Lorenc, MHCA President & CEO.  “Her professionalism, thoughtful approach and steady leadership have been a guiding force through years of change, consistently demonstrating her deep understanding of the industry’s challenges and opportunities.”

Catherine has played a pivotal role in shaping MHCA’s voice, helping us communicate effectively with government, stakeholders and the public.

Her talent for translating complex issues into clear and compelling messages has elevated our advocacy efforts and strengthened our strategic communications. Whether through policy submissions, government and public relations, or strategic communications, she brought clarity, insight, and a calm, purpose-driven approach to every task.

“Catherine’s integrity, mentorship and collaborative spirit have left a lasting impression on everyone she worked with,” said John Highmoor, MHCA Board Chair “Her presence, perspective and dry wit will be greatly missed.”

On behalf of the MHCA and its board, we thank Catherine for her remarkable impact on our organization and industry. We wish her health, happiness and a well-deserved rest in this next chapter.
