Description
The Sky Skills Basic Course is a four-day, hands-on training experience designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of drone operations, airspace awareness, and real-world applications of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
Delivered in an engaging and accessible format, this course blends classroom instruction with practical flight experience using drones. Participants will build confidence in both technical knowledge and operational skills, making this an ideal entry point for students, educators, and aspiring drone pilots.
Program Structure
Day 1–3: Classroom + Flight Labs
- Core UAS concepts, safety, and regulations
- Introduction to airspace, mission planning, and operational workflows
- Hands-on flight training
- Interactive exercises focused on control, navigation, and problem-solving
- Opportunity to write to the Pilot Certificate – Basic Operations
Day 4: Applied Skills + Capstone Activities
- Scenario-based missions and team exercises
- Demonstration of flight proficiency and decision-making
- Opportunity to re-write to the Pilot Certificate – Basic Operations (if needed)
- Overview of next steps, including advanced training pathways and certification options
