WCR&HCA proceeds with early planning for conference in 2023

The Western Canada Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association is surveying the interest of the industry across the four western provinces as part of the due diligence in planning for a conference, likely to be held in 2023.

The WCR&HCA, composed of the four roadbuilder associations in the West, has had a good proposal from the conference management group it tasked with finding a site and laying out the numbers to make such a meeting a success, WCR&HCA President Chris Lorenc said.

“We like the venue, we think the numbers are strong and now we are asking our members, particularly on the vendor side, for indication of their interest,” Lorenc said. “From members we need to get an idea of potential registrations and from the supply-side of the industry, the level of sponsorship interest there is out there.”

The association meets again early November to make a final decision.

“We have heard that members are anxious to meet again, to come together in a conference that allows us to talk business, but also to enjoy the company in networking and social events. And from the package presented, WCR&HCA is very encouraged it make it happen.”
