  • Changes to MHCA Flagperson Certification Package

NEWS

August 1, 2025

Changes to MHCA Flagperson Certification Package

Please be advised that effective March 1, 2026, the Flagperson Certification Package previously distributed by MHCA–WorkSafely to support in-house training will no longer be endorsed or supported by our association. As a result, it will also no longer be recognized by the Workplace Safety and Health Branch.

This change reflects our commitment to maintaining consistent, high-quality training that aligns with provincial safety standards. Over time, it became clear that we could not guarantee that in-house delivery using our materials consistently met these standards.

We want to assure you that MHCA will continue to offer comprehensive flagperson training through our WorkSafely program, delivered by qualified instructors. This ensures your team receives current, compliant, and consistent instruction to support safe work zones.

As part of this transition, we will request that any MHCA-approved trainers be removed from the Workplace Safety and Health Branch’s approved trainer list on March 1, 2026. Companies wishing to continue with in-house training may develop their own programs and submit them to the Director of Workplace Safety and Health for approval.

We appreciate your continued commitment to workplace safety and are here to support you through this change. If you have any questions or need assistance booking MHCA-led training, please contact us at 204-947-1379 or info@mhca.mb.ca.

Thank you for partnering with us to uphold the highest safety standards across Manitoba worksites.
