Premier Wab Kinew will bring remarks from the Province of Manitoba at the MHCA Awards Breakfast November 17, and Canadian Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Perrin Beatty, the keynote speaker, will speak to the need for a national infrastructure plan to spur economic growth.
Kinew plans to speak about the Manitoba government’s plan to work together with industry and invest in our infrastructure, ensuring a strong economic future for Manitoba.
The annual Chair’s Gala, to follow in the evening, has attracted more than 700 guests, a record for the premier event of the MHCA calendar.
Also speaking at the Awards Breakfast will be Mary Van Buren, President of the Canadian Construction Association, and Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Lisa Naylor, who will present the Highways awards for industry projects.
MHCA Chair Dennis Cruise and MHCA President & CEO Chris Lorenc will deliver their annual reports.
The MHCA, through the Western Canada Roadbuilders & Heavy Construction Association, will accompany Beatty, Van Buren and Gary Mar, President of the Canada West Foundation, at a meeting November 16 with Premier Kinew regarding the Canada Trade Infrastructure Plan, a long-term strategic plan for investing in the national trade corridor network to boost trade productivity, for economic growth.
