Equipment Rental Rates Committee welcomes City, MTI representation

The City of Winnipeg and Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure have agreed to name representatives to the MHCA Equipment Rental Rates Committee, which discusses all matters relating to the rental rates guide, in preparation for annual publication.

“The addition of committee members representing public owners of tenders is another useful step in the Committee’s work to ensure the Rental Rates Guide is up-to-date and reliable for all users,” said Chris Lorenc, MHCA President & CEO.

Joining the committee from MTI will be Matt Willson and Pam Salter. Jean-Luc Lambert, from the Winnipeg Public Works department, has joined the committee, as well.

Lorenc said the work of the committee is crucial to ensuring the guide reflects the needs of project owners, authorities issuing bid-hourly contracts and equipment owners submitting bids.

The past two to three years have seen adjustments to rates and to classification of all equipment models, in keeping with the committee’s commitment to bring rigour to the categories and ensuring equipment owners see a return on capital acquisition investment.

This year’s edition will see changes to the rates and classification of skid steers.

The 2024 MHCA Membership Directory and Equipment Rental Rates Guide is now being prepared by the publisher, and will be delivered to the mailbox of members by mid-March.
