Martens’s role at MHCA expands, to office administration coordinator

Jocelyn Martens, who has worked as the MHCA front office administrator, now assumes the job title of Office Administration Coordinator, announced MHCA President Chris Lorenc.

“Jocelyn’s role over the last five years has grown to include a number of other responsibilities and we wanted to acknowledge that, including with the position’s title,” Lorenc said.

MHCA members know the outstanding service Martens provides their contacts, through all means of communication. Martens is the first MHCA representative to greet those visiting the office (temporarily closed to visitors during pandemic restrictions.)

Martens is unfailingly professional and welcoming, and provides excellent assistance, Lorenc noted. She joined MHCA July 4, 2016.

Her primary responsibilities include all office systems, mail, couriers, recycling, supply procurement, vendor contact and offsite storage system. She has been co-lead on the office ‘go green’ initiative. Martens organizes MHCA’s Heavy Santa annual event, purchasing and arranging delivery of gifts for primary grade pupils at David Livingstone School, which typically includes a pizza lunch.

In the last five years, she has taken on increased bookkeeping responsibilities; initiated functions that have increased productivity and reduced costs; taken on a lead role with office IT, equipment procurement and vendor management.

“Jocelyn has continuously demonstrated being a team player, is organized and professional. She is dedicated to the industry and consistently works in the best interests of our members and their association,” Lorenc noted.
