MHCA Board confirms strategy for election campaign

The MHCA will be advertising the need for investment in Manitoba roads to support economic growth during the provincial election campaign this fall.

The strategy, including radio, billboard and social media awareness campaigns, was confirmed by the MHCA Board of Directors August 17. Advertising is to start early September and will run to the provincial election October 3.

The campaign will stress the importance of good roads to residents’ quality of life and to the economy, because of the role highways and roads play in moving goods to market and people to their daily destinations. Trade accounts for 53% of the provincial economy.

The MHCA is also one of nine Manitoba business groups hosting an all-party leaders forum September 12. Premier Heather Stefanson, Opposition leader Wab Kinew and Liberal leader Dougald Lamont will take questions from forum moderators Richard Cloutier, of CJOB, and Mary Agnes Welch, of Probe Research.
