MHCA welcomes safety advisor Andrea Guimond

Andrea Guimond has joined the MHCA WORKSAFELY® program on a term basis as a safety advisor.

Guimond, an Ojibway woman from the Sagkeeng First Nation, joins us following her 6-week co-op placement with MHCA, and the completion of the Occupational Safety and Health Program at Red River College Polytech.

She is currently working on her NCSO designation and COR Auditor certification.

Guimond is a graduate of the University of Winnipeg, holding a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Inner-city Studies and was previously employed for more than 10 years in the Parks and Open Spaces Branch of the Public Works Department at the City of Winnipeg, where she gained experience operating equipment.

“We are really glad to have Andrea join the team, having shown in the last number of weeks her skills and aptitude for working with our industry in the safety and health field,” Don Hurst, Director of WORKSAFELY® and Education.
