Premier Heather Stefanson to speak at MHCA Awards Breakfast

The MHCA has sent its congratulations to Heather Stefanson, who was sworn in as Manitoba’s first female premier by Lt.-Gov. Janice Filmon November 2, 2021.

“This is a momentous, historic event for Manitoba, and we are also very happy to host the Premier as our keynote speaker at the 2021 MHCA Awards Breakfast, preceding the AGM,” said MHCA Chair Nicole Chabot.

Chabot said Stefanson’s record as premier starts with a notable achievement, as she will serve as a role model for the generation of tomorrow’s leaders.

“It has taken so long for a woman to achieve this position and I know Premier Stefanson’s appointment will mean a great deal to other women and young girls who are to be encouraged, not just in politics but across the social, political and economic spectrum of opportunities.”

MHCA President Chris Lorenc said the keynote address and her appearance will provide Stefanson the opportunity to highlight her government’s plans and priorities to grow Manitoba’s economy, and to share her vision for harnessing strategic investment in core infrastructure, including Manitoba’s transportation network, to help expand Manitoba’s trade productivity and profile.

Following the address, the Premier has agreed to take part in a Q&A session with members via Zoom.

The virtual event will also see Manitoba Infrastructure Minister Ron Schuler release the 2022 tender advertising schedule, present the MI Highways Projects awards to industry recipients and bring greetings to the meeting.
