 Tony Teixeira
J.C. Paving Ltd.

Tony Teixeira, Vice-president of JC Paving, joins the board, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of Henry Borger from the Board, as of 2022.

Teixeira has been involved in many committees addressing matters related to the City of Winnipeg, the recycling of concrete aggregates and spec harmonization.

He has also spearheaded and organized two immigration delegations with the Provincial Nominee Program, which resulted in fast-tracked recruitment of skilled labour workers to Manitoba, filling some much-needed voids in the heavy construction industry. He sat on a provincial advisory board to the Manitoba immigration minister.

The Nominations Committee said it was confident that the Board of Directors will benefit from the sound judgment and contributions Teixeira has brought to the association’s work and meetings, noting he has always been supportive of MHCA advocacy and its activities.

The Board also approved a motion to undertake the following reviews with recommendations to be presented for consideration at the November 2022 AGM:

    1. Renewal of the Board and preparation for long-term succession
    2. Review and update of the existing MHCA organizational by-law; and
    3. Broad priority areas for MHCA focus going forward.
